A Stone Elevator[1] is a variant of Thwomp which first appears in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They are rectangular platforms with a face that drop by applying weight onto them, and they do not hurt Link upon touching them. They are mainly found in the side-scrolling dungeons, often as part of a puzzle that Link has to clear.

History Edit

In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, a Stone Elevator only appears near the end of Bottle Grotto, where Link must carry a jar onto one to push it down.

A larger Stone Elevator appears in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, particularly in The Mountain Path. It slightly resembles the one in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, but has a light gray body and a slightly different facial expression resembling a Thwomp from the Mario franchise. It is also much larger via sprite distortion, requiring the four Links to stand on it together to move it.
