To use this template for a recently released game, type <code><nowiki>{{upcoming}}</nowiki></code>. If it is for a real-life subject other than a game, type <code><nowiki>{{upcoming|SUBJECT}}</nowiki></code>, replacing "SUBJECT" with the class of the thing being released (console, publication, etc.). For in-game (etc.) subjects (i.e. enemies, locations, characters, items, etc.), use {{tem|new subject}} instead. To use this template for a specific section, rather than an entire article, type <code><nowiki>{{upcoming|section=yes}}</nowiki></code> or <code><nowiki>{{upcoming|section=yes|SUBJECT}}</nowiki></code>. Once the subject has been released in any region, replace this template with {{tem|just released}}.
This template is used to mark articles as [[:Category:Upcoming content|upcoming]], articles that new information. The template pertains to full pages by default; to make it about a specific section instead, type <code><nowiki>{{stub|section=yes}}</nowiki></code>. To have the edit link go directly to the section, add the section number that appears in the URL as a parameter: <code><nowiki>{{stub|section=yes|6}}</nowiki></code>.
