Donkey Kong Country is a Game Boy Color game that is a remake of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System title, Donkey Kong Country. Like the original version, the game was developed by Rare Ltd. and published by Nintendo. It was first released in North America, Europe, and Australia in 2000 and then in Japan in 2001 as Donkey Kong 2001, having its Japanese year of release in the title.
