A Spiked Thwomp is a variant of Thwomp thatwhich appears in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, aalthough variantit uniquedoes tonot theappear Thein Legendany of ZeldaMario seriesgames. Spiked Thwomps are colored gray, and only have one eye, which follows whichever direction that Link is in. Spiked Thwomps also have small spikes beneath its chin and on the sides, as well as a flat surface on its top part, allowing Link to stand on them.

Spiked Thwomps are only found in Angler's Tunnel and Catfish's Maw. They have the same behavior as regular Thwomps from the Super Mario series, waiting on the ceiling, and slamming down with a sinister grin when Link gets near in an attempt to squish Link. Unlike regular Thwomps, however, Spiked Thwomps do not return to the ceiling until Link moves away from it. Spiked Thwomps are indestructible in this game and cannot be defeated.
