Barbara

Barbara (full name: Barbara the Bat or Barbara Bat) is the main character of the Nintendo DS game Daigasso! Band Brothers. She is an anthropomorphic bat and is the arrogant owner of GB Music—"GB" stands for "Great Barbara", but it is also a nod to the original name of the game: "Game Boy Music". As owner of the only music store in Waru Waru Town open to midnight, she sells music and instruments with the help of her little brother, Ting Tin the Bat, and an infantile skeletal creature named Pockin' the Death. Although Barbara is a bat, she is unusual in that she doesn't have any wings, while her brother and Pockin' both do.
In the back of GB Music is a recording studio, and Barbara also acts as a small-time manager, looking for an up-and-coming act to manage and bring to fame; in the game, she'll sign up the player when they complete the beginner mode. Although she is a large music fan, her own musical career is as dead as a dodo, as her musical abilities are non-existent; the manga shorts found on the official website demonstrate that she is terrible at the game.[1]
Barbara also makes a cameo appearance in English Training, one of the Touch! Generations games in Japan.
History[edit]
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
When Barbara is summoned in a battle via an Assist Trophy, she strums her guitar for a few seconds, releasing sound waves that moderately damages opponents and knocks them back. Her last sound wave is larger and stronger than the other ones.
In addition, a collectible trophy of Barbara can be obtained when it appears at random in the game's single-player modes.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]
Barbara returns in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as a collectible trophy.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
Barbara appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Ace-class Grab-type primary spirit. It has three support slots and, when used on a fighter, only boosts their power without granting additional effects. The spirit is summonable with a Rouge the Bat, Prince Saruno, and a grab-type core. A Barbara wig is unlockable in the game for 900G, and can be worn by Mii Fighters.
Super Mario Maker[edit]
Barbara later appears in Super Mario Maker as an add-on Mystery Mushroom costume for Costume Mario. It can be unlocked by clearing the "Barbara in Tomatoland" Event Course, which was released on February 25, 2016.
Other appearances[edit]
Barbara appears in a web comic strip on Nintendo's Japanese kids website called Barbara & Ashley[2]. In the strip, Barbara hires Ashley to sing at her live club, but she struggles due to her shyness. Barbara watches Ashley and smugly thinks Ashley can make her rich, but soon after this, the witch falls asleep on stage, to Barbara's dismay.
