Bob-omb Battlefield is the first course in Super Mario 64 and its Nintendo DS remake, Super Mario 64 DS. It is a large, open grassy field set within the midst of a war between the Bob-ombs and the Bob-omb Buddies. It has a few minor landmarks such as a floating island and a spiraling mountain. Bob-omb Battlefield does not require any Power Stars to enter, and is the only location to be available from the start.
Goombas and Bob-ombs are the main enemies encountered, but there is also a Koopa Troopa near the starting area and a Chain Chomp guarding a narrow path. The course features two types of hazardous objects, including water bombs that are shot from a cannon on the mountain to the lower areas and iron balls that roll their way down the spiraling mountain.
