Donkey Kong Country is a Game Boy Advance game developed by Rare Ltd. and published by Nintendo. The game was released in 2003 as the second remake of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System title Donkey Kong Country, following after the Game Boy Color version's release in 2000. Donkey Kong Country's two sequels, Donkey Kong Country 2 and Donkey Kong Country 3, were also remade for the Game Boy Advance and released in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
Donkey Kong Country was released in North America, Europe, and Australia about six months before it was released in Japan, similar to the Game Boy Color version, although the Japanese localization of Donkey Kong Country's Game Boy Advance version retains the Super Donkey Kong title of the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System game instead of Donkey Kong 2001.
