Excitebike (character)
Excitebike, or Excitebike Racer, is the titular character from the Nintendo Entertainment System game of the same name, Excitebike. There are several Excitebikes, whom primarily wear a red outfit, although some of them wear a blue or purple outfit.

Excitebike[edit]
In Excitebike, multiple Excitebikers compete on course for the fastest time. Performing and landing jumps gives the characters a burst of speed. Overheating the engine or failing to land a jump will cause the player to fall off of their bike for a few seconds, losing both speed and time.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
In every Super Smash Bros. game from Super Smash Bros. Melee to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, there is a trophy of Excitebike.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, they appear as an Assist Trophy, and when summoned, several Excitebikes appear on stage and ride into the opponents. In the same game, there is a sticker of an Excitebike Racer.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is an Excitebike spirit.
Mario Kart 8[edit]
An Excitebike-themed race track called Excitebike Arena appears in the Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8. The sprite for an Excitebiker is featured in the banner above the goal line.
Super Mario Maker[edit]
An update to Super Mario Maker added an Excitebiker as one of the costumes Mario can receive upon touching a Mystery Mushroom. Clearing an Excitebike Event Course is necessary to unlock the costume. Here, the costume is simply named "Bike."

Trivia[edit]
- Excitebike was considered to be playable in Super Smash Bros. Melee as a representative for the Nintendo Entertainment System era. However, the Ice Climbers were chosen over them.[1]
- An Excitebike Racer was going to cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and both the sprite and dialogue relating to it remain in the game's code.
