The Nintendo DS Rumble Pak is a Nintendo DS accessory that provides rumble support for certain games. It is a DS Option Pak shaped like a Game Boy Advance cartridge, and as such, it is designed to be inserted in the system's Game Boy Advance game slot. In North America, it was first made available bundled with Metroid Prime Pinball, but was later made available as a standalone purchase from Nintendo's online store. Unlike the Nintendo 64's Rumble Pak, the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak uses up system power.
Like regular Game Boy Advance cartridges, the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak protrudes when inserted into a Nintendo DS Lite. For this reason, a smaller variation was released in Japan, which is flush with the system when inserted.
The Nintendo DSi, the Nintendo DSi XL, and Nintendo 3DS units are incompatible because they do not have a Game Boy Advance slot for the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak to be inserted.
