On November 24, 2021, [[User:Eeyore the Iowan Goat|Eeyore the Iowan Goat]] adopted Nintendo Wiki. Using his experience from creating a video game developer wiki in early 2019, {{plain link|[https://rarewiki.com/ Rare Wiki]}}, RMV2003 aims to apply a similar format to Nintendo Wiki, albeit with a broadened scope, similar to the Nintendo Wiki on Fandom.

For the second half of 2023, the Nintendo Wiki was closed. In January 2024, the wiki had been reopened, following a reopening request on Meta.

Nintendo Wiki went through various custom domains over the years, due to a lack of options. Its first custom domain was <tt>thenintendowiki.org</tt>, then <tt>thenintendowiki.com</tt>, and, as of February 16, 2024, <tt>nintendowiki.wiki</tt> (a nod to Zelda Wiki's domain, <tt>[https://zeldawiki.wiki zeldawiki.wiki]</tt>).

On November 24, 2021, Eeyore the Iowan Goat adopted Nintendo Wiki. Using his experience from creating a video game developer wiki in early 2019, Rare Wiki, RMV2003 aims to apply a similar format to Nintendo Wiki, albeit with a broadened scope, similar to the Nintendo Wiki on Fandom.
