PictoChat is a chat service found on the Nintendo DS. It is used to allow visual communication between up to 16 Nintendo DS's at once.

PictoChat is divided into 4 "chatrooms" marked "A," "B," "C," and "D" respectively. The maximum capacity for these chatrooms is 16. Upon entering a chatroom, users are presented with some very simple formatting options for drawing. The only available pen color is black, though on Nintendo DSi, the user can change to a rainbow pen by tapping on the pen icon while having selected it (the rainbow is also visible on regular Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite systems). The interface also contains a keyboard, which is able to produce a variety of text and symbols. The main feature of PictoChat is the ability to create simple drawings and post them onto the chatboard.

The Nintendo of Europe support page for starting and exiting PictoChat (specifically for Nintendo DSi systems) has a screenshot feature a drawing of Mario saying "Got it?" at the bottom, following after the short tutorial. In a few cases, the language of the screenshot corresponds to the region of the website (e.g. Nintendo of Spain's website shows the screenshot in Spanish) but otherwise shows the picture in English. The Spanish, Germany, and Italian screenshots are at a lower resolution than the English one.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there is a stage named PictoChat, and it takes place within the application itself. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and later Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the stage received a successor named PictoChat 2.
