Wii U is an eighth-generation console that was released in October 2012. It can play games at up to 1080p. It has a GamePad containing 6.2-inch (16-cm) 854 x 480 LCD touchscreen display at 158 ppi. It was discontinued in January 2017, and has been succeeded by Nintendo Switch.

Hardware[edit]

The Wii U has a 3-core IBM PowerPC "Espresso" processor running at 1,240,000,000 cycles per second, which is equivalent to 1.24 GHz. This CPU is manufactured at a 45 nm process. It also have a shared 3 MB L2 cache. The Wii U also has 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, which is shared across four channels, each 512 MB. It has 8 GB or 32 GB eMMC flash storage. It supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Bluetooth 4.0. It has a SDHC card slot that supports up to 32GB SD cards. It has four USB 2.0 ports.
